2023: Farmers say Amaechi will do better in agriculture than Wike

Brave Dickson

Farmers have said the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi will do better in the agric sector than Governor Nyesom Wike, if elected as president in 2023.

The farmers drew the evaluation of the duo presidential aspirants from their respective governorship impacts on the state agriculture.

In an interview with our correspondent, the National President, Association of Commercial Farmers and Agro Allied Producers of Nigeria, Engr Fidelis Amadi said Amaechi did his best to revamp agriculture in the state when he (Amaechi) was governor.

He said, “if we are to assess Amaechi and Wike in the area of agriculture, Amaechi will do better if elected president than Wike.

“Wike is only giving us mouth washing promises which he (Wike) has not matched with actions.”

The farmers also maintained that they will only vote a presidential candidate that would have the interest of farmers at heart.

“Any presidential candidate who can not tackle insecurity will not get our votes.

“The high degree of insecurity in the country is also responsible for the food insecurity we are facing.

“Farmers can no longer go to farm due to insecurity.

“Our colleagues are being faced with threats, all the time in the farm because of the activities of hoodlums in our bushes,” Amadi noted.
