Okrika magistrate remands two phone thieves in prison custody

Michael Nniabiebu and one Tamunosiki were on Thursday remanded at the Port Harcourt Correctional Facility for allegedly stealing two smartphones and a sum of N200,000 in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The complainant, Pastor Fubara Akuro told our correspondent that the first accused person, Nniabiebu came to his shop with the pretense to charge his phone and snatched two other smartphones and cash of 200,000 naira from his shop.

“The first accused person was later caught alongside his accomplice, Tamunosiki and summoned before the Okochiri vigilantes who interrogated them and the suspects confessed to the crime.

“The vigilantes later handed over the accused persons to the police who on Thursday charged them to court.

“The Okrika Magistrate Division had remanded the suspects at the Port Harcourt prison and adjourned the case till March 24 for judgment.”
