Burglary has become a common sight in our part of the world, and the majority of them happen when we travel, so how do we protect our homes when we can’t afford the expensive security alarm? Here are 5 ways to do just that.
- Throw away boxes of expensive items correctly.
When throwing away a box from a new laptop or refrigerator, you’re likely to attract potential burglars who want to steal your new item. To avoid stories that touch, tear the box apart before throwing it away not to attract intruders. - Let the sunlight in.
There aren’t so many people who like to live without sunlight, so if windows are curtained for a few days in a row, it may indicate that nobody’s home. So when you leave your property, make sure you don’t completely close your curtain or blinds to create an illusion that you’re home. - Pretend someone is home.
If you notice a strange person in your street while you are going out, they might be burglars waiting for you to go out, instead turn around and wave to your house, creating the illusion that there is still someone home. - Hide Valuables around strangers.
While a plumber is fixing something under your sink, they have enough time to have a look around. They can turn out to be bad guys who inform their accomplices. They can also steal your purse or earrings lying on the table. Of course, it doesn’t mean that all plumbers and other workers are burglars, but you should always be careful. - Protect your windows
Another popular way to enter your property is through your windows. That’s why it’s recommended to install grilles or window protectors if you live on the 1st or 2nd floor.
