No justification for killing of 20-year-old singer – Police

Sergeant Ben Isaiah, a mobile police officer and four officers of the anti-kidnapping unit responsible for the death of Daniel Chibuike Ikeagwuchi are undergoing orderly room trial at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, the police have said.

Isaiah who was attached to De Topic supermarket at the Elelenwo area of Port Harcourt had shot and killed the 20-year-old aspiring artist last month.

Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the Rivers State Police Command said on Thursday that there was no justification for the killing of the singer.

According to him: “Ben Isaiah and the other four officers from Anti-kidnapping Unit are being tried in orderly room trial. At the end of the orderly room trial, those found guilty would be dealt with.

“For Sergeant Ben Isaiah, he had made confessional statement already, he has agreed he shot the deceased. He will be dismissed and charged to court” he said.
