Covid-19: Rivers State Govt says didn’t shut down secretariat complex

Rivers State Government says it did not shut down Block C of the State Secretariat Complex following claims of death of Director of Treasury from covid-19.

The Public Health Emergency Operation Centre of the ministry of health described the news as fake.

There was wave of reports that a director whose name was yet to be ascertained allegedly died Sunday 24th May from covid-19.

Sources knowledgeable in the matter claimed that 5 more persons in the Ministry of Finance tested positive for coronavirus.

The sources added that the government has asked members of the public who visited the office or the Block C of the Secretariat Complex to go into self Isolation.
