Bayelsa distributes 10k face masks to residents

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri has approved the distribution of 10, 000 face masks for Bayelsans.

The distribution of the cloth face masks is part of efforts by the State Taskforce on covid-19 to contain the coronavirus pandemic in the state.

The 10,000 face masks are the first phased production by the government, which shall be distributed, especially to all targeted vulnerable groups across the state.

A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Orientation and member, Bayelsa State Task Force On Covid-19, Mr. Freston Akpor noted that the scheduled date and mode of distribution would be made public.

Recall that the taskforce had earlier emphasized the use of face masks by Bayelsans and recently announced its compulsory use particularly in public places, while at the same time observing the various measures including regular hand washing and social distancing.
