Breaking: Supreme Court frees Orji Uzor Kalu, orders a retrial

The Supreme Court on Friday nullified the conviction of a former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu.

Kalu, a Senator representing Abia North was sentenced to a 12-year imprisonment for money laundering by a federal high court in Lagos.

An appeal court also upheld his conviction.

However, the apex court disagreed with the trials and nullified his conviction

The court also ordered a retrial of the accused and his co-defendants.
