Breaking: Wike reverses self, cancels full congregational Easter services

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has cancelled earlier approval to churches to conduct full congregational Easter services.

This was made known by the commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim through his social media handle.

“This decision was taken after due consultations with eminent clergymen, well-meaning Nigerians and civil society groups,” he said.

He also advised that churches should maintain the 50 persons per service. “For the avoidance of doubt, churches should stick to the 50 persons per service to maintain social distancing.

Recall that some churches in Port Harcourt decided not to adhere to the Governors newest directives as they maintained that their members will worship online via their different online streaming platforms.
