Breaking: Court disqualifies Bayelsa APC governorship candidate, David Lyon

A Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa the capital of Bayelsa State on Thursday, disqualified the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, David Lyon.

His disqualification comes barely 24 hours after his deputy was disqualified by a federal high court sitting in Abuja ahead of the November 16 governorship election.

Ruling on a petition filed by Heineken Lokpobiri, one of the displeased APC governorship aspirants, the court said the governorship primary was not conducted in accordance with the guidelines and constitution of the party.
