Why police shot Lucifer dead in Rivers State

A notorious kidnapper from Egamini Rundele, in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Ekweme Brown Ike, aka Lucifer, has been killed by Men of the Operation Sting from the Rivers State Police Command.
The crime lord was shot dead in a Sting Operation led by the Emohua sector Commander of the new security unit, ACP Shem Evans.

Lucifer was said to be the leader of a notorious gang terrorising the Emuoha-Ndele axis of the East-West Road.

A statement by the Rivers state police spokesman, Dsp Nnamdi Omon on Monday, said, Lucifer was responsible for all the kidnappings and hijacking of Commercial Buses on the Ndele axis of the East/West Road.

He said Lucifer was tracked down by men of the force in a covert operation aimed at mopping up remnant criminal elements in Emohua communities.

Omoni also assured the public of the Command’s resolve to tackle crime and criminal elements in the state.

Our correspondent reports that Rundele Community was thrown into a wild jubilation as a result of Lucifer’s death.
