Wike appoints widow of late APC chieftain as aide

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said he would appoint the widow of the late chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Late Elder Austin Nwakoh as a special adviser.

Wike, who spoke at the funeral of the late politician on Friday in Kpean Town, Khana Local government area, described him as a politician of truth who was committed to the development of the state.

He said late politician played politics that promoted confidence.

He said: “This is a painful passage. It is an untimely death. Elder Austin Nwakoh was a politician of a different class. He was a politician of truth. He was a politician of confidence “.

Governor Wike announced the appointment of the widow of the Late Politician as a Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor.

He said the appointment was made to maintain a link with the family and would foot the cost of the Education of the son of the late politician.

Governor Wike said: “You were not just a close confidant. You were a wonderful person, handsome inside and out. Gentle in disposition, and incredibly energetic with uncommon ability to brighten up any home that you work into your ever happy-go-lucky personality.

“You were always thoughtful, trustworthy and truthful. You never judged, but advised freely and candidly, assisted readily and advanced our common political aspirations with courage and hope”.
