The 12th edition of the DA-F basketball holiday clinic/camp for teenagers starts on the 1st of August 2019.

Pioneer of the initiative and the Head Coach of Nigeria’s U16 Basketball Team, Fubara Oyanabo said DA-F is a youth organization that uses basketball as a tool to take kids off the streets, and help as many as possible to achieve their dreams.
Head coach of Nigeria’s U16 Basketball Team, Fubara Oyanabo revealed that he is committed to developing basketball for the youths and at the grassroots.
”For me, first taking the teenagers out of the street is my major achievement for this, but outside that presently we have close to 20 kids in America on athletics scholarship.

“Everywhere River State has shined and has done something outstanding in basketball. For the past one year members of DA-F basketball program have featured in DTigers, the present captain of Rivers Hoopers is a product of the basketball program and this year by the grace of God we have two players from our program, in-person of Chibuzor Kanu and his brother drafted to the River Hoopers basketball club, so our products are everywhere.”

The Port Harcourt based coach who led Nigeria to the semifinal of the FIBA U-16 Africa Championship 2019, said the plan is to develop young talent and create the needed awareness.
”We are looking for everybody every teenager, from let’s say 7 to 19, you don’t even need to know how to play even if you can play just come, we are trying to develop, we are also trying to create awareness, we want this game to spread, a situation where we have people playing in all these places we can play a little league, we can do something.

“It is going to start on the 1st of August, 1st to 3rd is going to be at Bori Camp from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. So it’s just three days. Everywhere we go no restriction. Once you’re within the age limit you’re free to come you don’t need to know how to play we are going to teach you the basic skills, that’s the essence of clinics”.
