Wike to street traders: stop defacing Portharcourt.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has warned roadside trader to desist from their act of defacing access roads within Portharcourt metropolis.

The governor who gave the warning after inspecting the Garrison-Trans-Amadi-Elelenwo road which is under construction bemoaned the level of defacing wrath on the road by street trading.

He said that displaying of wares along the road disrupts traffic flow and makes the city look dirty.

Governor Wike maintained that there is a reason the markets are there and it is solely for buying and selling.

He urged security agents and other stakeholders to work together to bring sanity in the state.
