Ngofa returns to the Hague after Senate bid fails

Nigerian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Oji Ngofa, has returned to his duty post at Hague after a failed bid to clinch senate ticket.

Ngofa, a member of the All Progressives Congress vied to represent Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the national assembly, failed after series of court battles between the party barred the party from contesting the elections.

Ngofa made an early morning appearance at the office Monday 15th April, 2019 after observing the due consummation of the usual work-leave awarded to non-career Ambassadors by the supervising Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Godspower Igwe, said.

According to the statement: “It’s informative to note that the Ambassador, His Excellency Oji Ngofa took a shot at the Senate ticket under his party the All Progressives Congress APC in Rivers State for the just concluded General Elections, and of course secured same to vie for the representation of Rivers South-East District, but for a controversial exclusion of the APC from the ballots via a PDP sponsored suit at the Rivers State High Court.

“Ambassador Oji Ngofa, a man believed in by his people, has returned to his Netherlands base to continue in his service of mankind.

“As they say, OUT OF SIGHT IS NOT OUT OF MIND, Mr. Ngofa is a man who has a pact with his people of Rivers State and particularly Rivers South-East, and this is always wishing for a way to make life better for any man/woman who ever comes across him in the line of the discharge of his roles in society as a public office-holder”
