Operatives of the special anti-robbery squad in Rivers State reportedly told a Port Harcourt-based artist Benjissy Zaaki Omale that he will be raped by gays in the cell if he does not cough out 50, 000 as a bail bond.
This is as the outcry against police brutalities in the country has increased following the killing of a 20-year-old Ada Ifeanyi by police officers in Ajegunle Lagos on Saturday.
The artist who was arrested by SARS operatives in Port Harcourt on Monday narrated his ordeal in the hands of the officers.
According to him, he paid the officers the 50, 000 but they made sure that he deleted the alert evidence in case he would want to use it to implicate them.
