Rivers APC reprimands Amaechi over attack on party members

The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has reprimanded the minister of transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi for his constant attacks on the senator representing Rivers South-East senatorial district at the national assembly, Magnus Abe.

Prince Peter Odike, the factional chairman of the party said in a statement made available to theportcitynews that it is wrong for any member of the party to act or comment in a manner that tend to disunite the party.

According to him: “My attention has been drawn to the recent allegation by the Minister for Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, against the Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Senator. Magnus Abe to the effect that the Distinguished Senator is being used by the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike to prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) from participating in the 2019 general elections in the State.

“In my capacity as the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, it is my obligation to ensure that the party in the state is united in brotherly love, peace and harmony.

“It is therefore very wrong for any member of the party, no matter how highly placed, to comment or act in a manner that tend to disunite the party.

“I therefore strongly condemn the allegation made by Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi against Senator Magnus Abe and hereby urge our party members to completely discountenance the said allegation as there is no truth whatsoever in it.

“I also call on Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to exercise restraint and caution and to desist forthwith from making utterances capable of causing disunity among party members”
