Buhari to storm Port Harcourt on Tuesday

Ahead of the Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections, president Mohammadu Buhari and his campaign organization will storm Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital on Tuesday in continuation of his national-wide campaign.

Buhari, 76, is seeking a second term in office after spending 3 years and 10 months in office that has been plagued by a dwindling economy, massive job loss and general rise in insecurity.

His main challenger, former vice-president Atiku Abubakar, was in Port Harcourt on Monday for the Peoples Democratic Party’s Rally.

President Buhari’s rally will be held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium in Omagwa.

The president is visiting at a time his Party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state will not be on the ballot having been disqualified from the elections by the Supreme Court due to their faulty congresses.

The president earlier in January handed over the gubernatorial flag of the party to Tonye Cole during the flag-off of his rally in Akwa Ibom.

However, on Friday, February 8, the Apex Court reaffirmed the earlier ruling of the Rivers state High Court which nullified the congresses and primaries conducted by the Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi’s faction of the party.
