Four schools qualified for the finals of the 2018 edition of the Shell Petroleum Development Company and Joint Venture’s Environmental Awareness Quiz Competition.
Owaza Community Secondary School, Owaza, in Abia State emerged the overall winner for this year’s competition while Community Secondary School Aleto in Eleme came second.
Community secondary school Rumuapara in Obio/Akpor local government took the third position out of the 100 other schools that took part in the quiz competition.
Congratulation the winners, the General Manager, Safety & Environment of SPDC JV, Chidube Nnene-Anochie said that the quiz competition is to strengthen the students’ awareness about their environment.
According to her, they need to learn to take care of their environment so as to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of trophies to the winners.
