Flood: Abua/Odual community laments lack of basic amenities

Some residents of Arukwo community in Abual/Odual local government area are calling on the state government to come to their aide over the devastating flood that has ravaged the area and rendered life miserable.

Some of the residents who spoke to correspondent RACHEAL RAMSON said they lack basic amenities that will enable them to survive the outcome of the flood in the area.

They said since the flood began in September, children are unable to attend schools.

“No road, the water don finish our house dem no food the water don also soak the food we plant.”

The residents also said government needs to build schools for their children, together with health centres.

“we cannot continue living this”

Speaking to one of the youths in the area, he lamented the inability of residents to get well-paid jobs.

” I learn better hand work but see me na, na okada {bike} I dey drive which kind life be this?” he asked!
