MOSOP calls for equal right to political representation

The equal right to participate and be well represented in every political, social and Educational sphere by the citizens of Nigeria has been emphasized.

President Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) Legboris Pyagbara, who stated this said those in the South-South should have an equal right to representation in the country just like their counterparts in other parts of the country.

According to him, the North was given preferential treatment educationally which accorded them access to education in order to meet up with other educationally advantaged parts of the country.

Legborsi stressed that people from the South-South should also not be discriminated in the issue of adequate representation in the socio-political process of the country.

“The right to education in Nigeria is enjoyed by all groups. The access to educational facilities is enjoyed by all groups, that is why till tomorrow, we make all effort to lower admission entrances to the universities for our brothers in the north while those from the south who have the same score cannot get equal opportunity to get into school because we felt the south is already advanced than the north.

“This is done to address the right of education and now we are talking about the right to participation and representation, why are people finding it difficult to address the Ogoni question from the same perspective he asked?
