Afrobeats star Davido has reportedly submitted multiple entries for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, including his album Oriade and several songs across different categories.
The development was disclosed by Grammy Guru in a post on X on Tuesday, October 13, as the Recording Academy’s first-round voting period opened.
According to reports, Oriade, Davido’s sixth studio album, was submitted in four categories: Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) and Best Album Cover.
His song B4 B4, featuring Mayorkun and Fola, was reportedly entered for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.
Another collaboration, Nakupenda, featuring TxC, was submitted for Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.
Davido’s other reported entries include Le Show, featuring Ayra Starr and French Montana, for Best African Music Performance, and I Know Who I Be for Best Music Video.
The Recording Academy scheduled first-round voting for October 12 to 22, 2026, with nominees for the 69th Grammy Awards expected to be announced on November 16.
The ceremony is scheduled for February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles, California.
Davido’s reported submissions add to his continued pursuit of recognition from the Recording Academy. However, submitting music for consideration does not guarantee a nomination, as entries must go through the Academy’s eligibility and voting processes.
