Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has been named the best player in Turkey’s TFF 1. Lig after an impressive start to the season with Bursaspor.
The recognition was announced by beIN SPORTS following assessments of performances during the opening eight matchdays of the campaign.
During the beIN 1. Lig programme, host Turgay Keskin and analyst Tunç Kayacı also identified Bursaspor as the league’s standout team after their strong start to the season.
Bursaspor have recorded six wins, one draw and one defeat from their opening eight matches.
The club currently occupy second position in the league table, level on points with leaders Kayserispor but behind on goal difference.
Iheanacho earned the individual honour after producing a series of outstanding performances for the club.
The Nigerian striker has scored 11 goals and provided two assists in just eight league appearances this season.
His contributions have played a key role in Bursaspor’s impressive form and promotion push.
The 29-year-old joined the Turkish side as a free agent after leaving Scottish Premiership club Celtic.
Since arriving in Turkey, Iheanacho has quickly established himself as one of the most influential players in the division.
His prolific scoring form has also strengthened his case for a return to the Super Eagles squad ahead of future international assignments.
