Photo News: Journalists embark On peaceful protest in Port Harcourt

The Nigerian Union of Journalists, Rivers state chapter today, August 30 embarked on a peaceful walk following directives from the NUJ national secretary, Shauibu Leman.


The Rivers state NUJ secretary, Ikechukwu Wigodo in a statement, said the peaceful walk is to express displeasure and disapproval over the incessant attacks on journalists and media organizations in the country.

In the same light, a civil society organization in Rivers state showed their support for journalists and commended the NUJ for embarking on the peaceful walk.

The state chairman of the civil society organization in Rivers State, Enefa Georgewill called on the government to drop all charges against journalists everywhere in the country.
