The Super Eagles will begin preparations for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on Tuesday as head coach Éric Chelle leads his squad into their first training session ahead of Friday’s clash with Madagascar.
Nigeria opened camp in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, on Monday as attention turns to the crucial Group-stage encounter against the Barea.
The first training session will give Chelle an opportunity to assess the players available in camp and begin putting his plans in place for the opening qualifier.
The first 15 minutes of the session will be open to the media, allowing journalists to observe the early stages of the team’s preparations before the squad continues its work behind closed doors.
The Super Eagles media team is yet to provide an update on the number of players who have arrived in camp or those currently available to the coaching staff.
Nigeria will face Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday as Chelle begins his bid to guide the three-time African champions towards qualification for the 2027 AFCON tournament.
The encounter will be followed by another away assignment next week, with Nigeria scheduled to travel to Guinea-Bissau for their Matchday Two fixture on Tuesday.
With two qualifiers coming in quick succession, Chelle will be hoping to use the limited preparation time effectively as the Super Eagles look to make a strong start to their AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign.
