The Deputy Minority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly and member representing Khana Constituency I, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Barile Nwakoh, has flagged off the construction of an NYSC Corpers’ Lodge in Kaani-Babbe Community, Khana Local Government Area.
The project is part of Nwakoh’s constituency interventions aimed at improving infrastructure and supporting grassroots development across Khana Constituency I.
The foundation-laying ceremony formally marked the commencement of the project and was witnessed by traditional rulers, chiefs, elders, members of the Community Development Committee (CDC), youths, women, pastors and other stakeholders from the community.
The project adds to many constituency interventions attributed to the lawmaker, including the near-completion of an ultra-modern town hall in Gwara, the ongoing construction of another ultra-modern town hall in Kpean and the provision of open market stores in Buan.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Coordinating CDC Chairman of Khana LGA and CDC Chairman of Kaani-Babbe, Hon. Precious L. Nnaa, described Nwakoh as a “protocol breaker” and commended her for what he described as her focus on delivering tangible development to the people.
Nnaa said the projects being executed across the constituency demonstrated the importance of connecting political representation with community development and infrastructure.
The construction of the NYSC lodge is expected to provide accommodation support for corps members posted to the community while contributing to improved infrastructure in Kaani-Babbe.
The development brings the number of visible constituency interventions highlighted by the lawmaker across Gwara, Kpean, Buan and Kaani-Babbe, with community stakeholders expressing appreciation for the projects.
