Oba Ama Community in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State has declared its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Executive Chairman of Okrika LGA, Chief Hon. Akuro Alfred Tobin, DSSRS, JP, made the declaration during a strategic political visit to the community, alongside leaders and members of the Rainbow Coalition in the area.
The visit brought together traditional chiefs, elders, men, women and youths, who expressed their support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and the political vision of the National Leader of the Rainbow Coalition, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
The community also pledged to mobilise its members and work towards securing victory for APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the community, residents of Oba Ama attributed their support for the APC to what they described as Tobin’s developmental strides and people-oriented leadership.
They described the council chairman as “Mr. Project,” citing his infrastructural and human capital development initiatives across the local government area.
The community also highlighted the longstanding relationship between the Tobin family and Oba Ama, saying the bond had contributed to unity, trust and development.
In his remarks, Tobin, who was represented by the Chairman of the PDP in Okrika LGA, Hon. Vincent Ferguson Bamson, thanked the people of Oba Ama for their warm reception, confidence and acceptance of the Renewed Hope family.
He assured the community that his administration would continue to prioritise the welfare of residents and ensure that they benefit from impactful projects and inclusive governance.
The event was attended by political leaders and stakeholders, including the Chairman of the APC in Okrika LGA, the Leader of the Okrika 8th Legislative Assembly, the Political Leader and Councillor of Ward 9, Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, principal officers of the council, political appointees, ward chairmen, PDP and APC women leaders, and former councillors.
The visit, according to the organisers, further demonstrated growing political unity among stakeholders in Okrika and their resolve to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
