Lionel Messi is reportedly close to completing a deal to acquire Spanish second-tier club CD Eldense, further expanding his growing portfolio of football investments.
According to multiple reports in Spain, including Marca, Messi has reached an agreement in principle to purchase 100 per cent of Eldense’s shares from majority owner TH Soluciones Group. The Colombian investment group took control of the club in October 2025.

The proposed takeover is expected to proceed without third-party involvement once the due diligence process is completed. However, the deal still requires formal approval from Spain’s High Council for Sports (CSD), with ratification expected in the coming days.
Eldense currently competes in the Segunda División, Spain’s second tier, and Messi’s acquisition would mark another significant step in his expanding involvement in Spanish football.
The Inter Miami captain is increasingly building a business presence in the Spanish game, amid long-standing speculation that he could eventually return to live in Catalonia.
