The President of KAGOTE and Chief Executive Officer of Giolee Global Resources Limited, Chief Lesi Maol, has commissioned a modern public toilet facility in New Town, Bua B-Dere, as part of efforts to improve sanitation and the well-being of residents.
The facility was handed over to the community on August 6, 2026. Maol said the project was inspired by concerns over residents who lacked access to toilet facilities and were forced to resort to open defecation.
He also disclosed that the facility was equipped with a solar power system and an automatic water-pumping system to ensure steady electricity for pumping water and improve access to water.
Maol announced plans to remodel the B-Dere hospital to international standards, expressing his ambition to transform it into a facility capable of serving people within and beyond the community.
He urged residents to maintain peace and take ownership of the projects, stressing the need for proper maintenance to ensure their longevity.

Bakor noted that Maol had invested his personal resources in Ogoniland through projects in education, healthcare and other areas, urging other leaders to emulate his commitment.
The Menebon of New Town, Chief Jonathan Korobe, also praised the project, saying it would help end the embarrassment residents faced when forced to use the bush as toilets.
Similarly, the Paramount Ruler of Bua B-Dere, HRH Mene Kadilo Sooh, expressed appreciation for the intervention and urged residents to keep the facility clean and properly maintained.
Hon. Dee Dummene of B-Dere Ward also thanked Maol for the sanitation project and the additional measures to provide water and electricity, calling on residents to protect the facility and ensure it continues to serve the community.
