Nigerian rapper Ycee has doubled down on his controversial remarks about content creator Peller, making it clear that he has no plans to apologise for what he said.
The rapper revisited the controversy during an interview with Cool FM Lagos, where he defended his decision to reference Peller while speaking about the growing influence of internet personalities in Nigeria.
Ycee maintained that his comments were not an attack on content creators as a group but were directed at what he described as “brain-rot” content and the growing popularity of material he considers lacking in substance.
The controversy began after Ycee appeared on the Afropolitan Podcast, where he spoke about what he called the “olodo uprising” and “Peller culture” while discussing the changing dynamics of fame and success in Nigeria.
