As 3,344 corps members complete the National Youth Service Corps NYSC orientation, Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has charged them to embrace patriotism, selfless service and dedication.
Fubara urged them to be patriotic and selfless in their service to the nation as they begin their service year in the state.
The governor who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Bureau, office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Promise Oguzie, gave this charge on Wednesday, during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Batch B Stream 11 orientation camp for corps members deployed to the state.
He explained that the corps members can be selfless in their service to the nation by leaving what he described as enduring legacies in their host communities.

His words: “As corps members you owe Nigerians the responsibility of serving with integrity, commitment and dedication in order to build a nation of the collective dreams of all citizens.
“Give your very best in serving the good people of the state.”
Further, Fubara assured them of his administration’s intentional effort to make their welfare and security a top priority.
In his farewell address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, urged the corps members to see the service year as a time to develop their skills and gain insights that will shape their future.
A total of 3344 corps members made up of 1357 males and 1987 females successfully completed the orientation course.
