The Okrika Local Government Council has commissioned a newly constructed eight-room unisex toilet facility and a solar-powered borehole project in Dikibo Ama, Ward 5 of Okrika Local Government Area.
The facilities were commissioned by the Leader of the 8th Okrika Legislative Assembly and Councillor representing Ward 5, Rt. Hon. Dr. Dcn. Paul G. Abam, who represented the Executive Chairman of Okrika LGA, Chief Hon. Akuro Alfred Tobin, DSSRS, JP.
The projects, initiated under the administration of the former Sole Administrator, Hon. Isodiki, and completed by the administration of Chief Hon. Akuro Alfred Tobin, are aimed at addressing sanitation and access to clean water in the community.
Speaking during the commissioning, the Chief of Dikibo War Canoe House thanked the council leadership for responding to some of the community’s pressing needs.
He said the new toilet facility and solar-powered borehole would improve living conditions and contribute to the health and wellbeing of residents.
The community leader also pledged continued cooperation with the local government while calling for collective responsibility in protecting and maintaining the facilities.

In his remarks, Abam urged residents to take ownership of the projects and ensure they are properly maintained and responsibly used.
He stressed that effective community management was necessary to preserve the facilities and ensure they continued to benefit both current and future generations.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by community leaders, youths, women and residents of Dikibo Ama, who expressed appreciation for the delivery of the public amenities.
The projects were described as a significant development for the community and a demonstration of the council’s focus on grassroots infrastructure and people-oriented governance.
