The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police (CPs) to state commands and strategic formations across the country, following the Police Service Commission’s approval of his recommendations.
The redeployment, announced in a statement on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, is aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness, enhancing leadership across commands and formations, and consolidating ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.
Under the new postings, CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo was deployed to Abia State, CP Ayodeji Faniyan to Plateau, CP Saka Adewale Ajao to Bayelsa, CP Ajo Geofrey Ordue to Cross River, CP Nanna Oji Ama to Anambra, CP Patrick Daaor to Edo, CP Tani Murtala to Jigawa, and CP Samuel Erale to Delta State.
The Inspector-General also approved the deployment of several Commissioners of Police to strategic departments and formations, including the Force Intelligence Department (FID), Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Department of Training and Development (DTD), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Police Academy (POLAC), and the Police Staff College.
Disu charged the affected officers to leverage their experience in their new assignments by strengthening intelligence-led policing, improving operational effectiveness, promoting professionalism, and deepening community engagement in line with the vision of the Nigeria Police Force.
He urged the senior officers to remain committed to safeguarding lives and property while upholding the highest standards of discipline, accountability, and service delivery.
The Force said the strategic redeployments form part of ongoing reforms aimed at boosting operational efficiency, strengthening internal capacity, and improving policing services across Nigeria.
