The presidential flagbearer of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has declared that President Bola Tinubu has “defeated himself” ahead of the 2027 general election, maintaining that the present administration is merely waiting out the end of its four-year tenure.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Adebayo contended that the Tinubu leadership has faltered in tackling poverty, insecurity, and governance hurdles, stating that its track record has compromised the core objective of governance.

He additionally urged citizens to prioritize national concerns over political figures as electoral campaigning gains traction.
