Former super eagles striker Victor Anichebe has made headlines off the pitch. The 38-year-old former Premier League player is currently leading a formidable takeover bid to buy English football club Bromley FC.
According to a report from The Sun, Anichebe is leading an investment consortium that is actively engaged in good discussions with Bromley’s majority owner, Robin Stanton-Gleaves.
If it pulls through, the deal could see Anichebe join an exclusive membership of East African professional footballers who have successfully transitioned into membership possession in English football.

The takeover bid would see to become a crucial change to Bromley FC’s 132 year existence. The south London membership are currently preparing for their first ever campaign in League One (the 3rd level of the English football league machine), after a fairytale run that saw them gain two promotions in just three years.
From hanging his boots onwards the former Super Eagles ventured into businesses such as real estate and sports management, controlling sporting activities effectively . His intimate knowledge of the English football pyramid, mixed with strong monetary backing, makes his takeover bid an interesting prospect for Bromley supporters
Talks are ongoing, with each side reportedly working close to a deal ahead of the start of the new League One campaign.
