The newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Education, Dr. Mina Tele Ikuru, has officially resumed duties following her recent swearing-in.
Dr. Ikuru assumed office at the temporary headquarters of the Ministry located at Government Girls Secondary School, Rumuokwuta. The Ministry is currently operating from the school while renovation work continues at the Rivers State Secretariat Complex.
On arrival, the Permanent Secretary was received by the Director of Administration, Mr. Emmanuel Evans Dappa, and other senior officials of the Ministry. She was taken on a tour of the offices to familiarise herself with the temporary work environment and interact with members of staff.

The visit provided an opportunity for Dr. Ikuru to inspect the facilities currently being used by the Ministry as it carries out its responsibilities from the temporary location.
Her assumption of office marks the beginning of a new administrative phase for the Ministry of Education, which is expected to continue implementing government policies aimed at improving the education sector in the state.
Officials expressed confidence that the new Permanent Secretary would provide effective leadership and ensure the smooth coordination of the Ministry’s activities while work on the State Secretariat Complex progresses toward completion. Staff also welcomed her and pledged their cooperation in achieving the Ministry’s goals.
