The Rivers State Commander of the National Forest Security Service (NFSS), Amb. George Esene, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, led a high-powered delegation on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Akuku Toru Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Aboiya-a Bob-Fubara.
Amb. Esene said the chairman, as the chief security officer of the area, assured him that all security reports concerning NFSS operations in the LGA would be channeled directly to his office.
He said the visit was aimed at fostering closer collaboration between the NFSS and the council to strengthen forest protection, enhance community safety, and improve overall security architecture in Akuku Toru.
In his response, Rt. Hon. Bob-Fubara welcomed the delegation and lauded the NFSS for its commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s forests and supporting national security efforts.

The chairman pledged his administration’s total support to the service, promising to provide befitting office accommodation and all necessary logistics to enable the NFSS to perform its duties effectively.
He charged officers of the service to discharge their duties with diligence, professionalism, and integrity, stressing that security remains a collective responsibility.
Bob-Fubara also backed the recruitment of more personnel into the NFSS and appealed to the leadership to consider qualified youths from Akuku Toru for enlistment to boost employment and community-based security.
The meeting, which was held at the AKULGA Multipurpose Hall, was attended by top council officials, including the Secretary to the Council, Hon. Agustius Awowari; Chief Security Officer, Hon. Robinson Quakers; and other principal officers.
