Eid-el-kabir is the second of the Islamic holiday celebrated worldwide. The festive is to honour the willingness of prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God commandment.

Speaking to some civil servants here in Port Harcourt, they said the two-day public holiday gave them the opportunity to spend time with their family and as well visit fun places in Port Harcourt. They however said they are glad work has resumed today to enable them contribute and grow the revenue of the state.

Some residents however, express joy that the Sallah holiday is over because according to them, during the holidays most ATMs weren’t paying and it restricted them in carrying out their business and personal transactions effectively.

“I needed to make this transaction but because of the Sallah break i was just handicap”.

However, some residents said they wished the Sallah break would have continue for the whole week and let work resume next week Monday.
