August 18 PHALGA By-Election to go ahead

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has confirmed that the by-election for PHALGA Constituency III slated to hold on August 18th, 2018 will go ahead.

INEC’s deputy director and head of voter’s education in Rivers state, Edwin Enabor stated this to Journalists in Port Harcourt, adding that INEC will ensure a free and fair conduct of the by-election.

“Starting from the Pre-election, we’ve gotten all our materials, we’ve had stakeholders meetings at the local Government level and state level.

“We’ve had security meetings, we’ve got our Ad-hoc staff comprising of both INEC staff and Youth Corpers. They’ve been trained for 3 days and we’re in a state of readiness.

“We have officials now who have come in from the headquarters, Abuja. We have the RECs from Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa who are going to assist the resident electoral Commissioner. And every other person who is going to take part in one function or the other in the Election, we are all at a go now” he said.
