The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) teams up with CypherCrescent Limited to offer a new digital research capacity development programme for undergraduate students.
The initiative, named ‘Catch-the-Researcher-Young Programme (CRYP)’, targets 300 and 400 level students in science, engineering and technology disciplines at public universities.
Students currently on industrial training also qualify for the programme.
NCDMB officials say the programme equips young talents with modern technology skills, advanced research methods and industry-relevant competencies.
It prepares participants for innovation, digital transformation and advanced technology development through virtual learning, expert mentorship and practical research experience.
Programme features include virtual training and digital laboratories, solution development mentorship, data analytics and cloud computing sessions, research project support, and innovation and incubation opportunities. Participants receive monthly stipends during the programme.
Students gain a strong foundation in research methodology, practical skills in digital tools and data analysis, and field-specific competencies.
The training also readies them for postgraduate studies and real-world industry problem solving.
Interested students must belong to student-related associations and register on the NOGIC JQS portal. They need a laptop and reliable internet connection.
In addition, applicants require a CGPA of 3.5 and above from the last academic session.
Preferred fields of study cover Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Electrical, Mechanical and Chemical Engineering.
