The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a list of purported senatorial candidates currently circulating on social media and some online platforms, describing it as fake and unauthorised.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the document titled “Concluded List of APC Senatorial Candidates So Far” did not originate from the party and should be disregarded by members of the public.
Morka warned that only the National Working Committee (NWC) is empowered to announce candidates emerging from primary elections and other constitutionally prescribed processes.
He urged party members, stakeholders, the media, and the general public to avoid circulating unverified information capable of causing confusion or undermining the integrity of the party’s democratic processes.
“The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a purported ‘Concluded List of APC Senatorial Candidates So Far’ currently circulating on social media and some online platforms,” the statement read.
“The APC wishes to state that the said list is fake and did not emanate from the party,” it added.
The party stressed that only its official communication channels remain valid for updates on candidate selection and other internal processes.
It further cautioned against the spread of misinformation, noting that such actions could mislead the public and distort ongoing internal arrangements ahead of future elections.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to due process and transparency in its nomination procedures, urging supporters to remain calm and rely only on verified party information.
