The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans to hold a Special National Convention for the ratification of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the party’s presidential candidate.
According to the party leadership, the convention is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the ‘A’ Class Event Centre, Kassim Ibrahim Way, Wuse 2, Abuja, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The announcement, signed by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, and the National Organising Secretary, Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan, described the gathering as a crucial step in the party’s preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Party leaders, delegates, stakeholders, and supporters from across the country are expected to attend the convention, which will formally ratify the nomination of former President Jonathan as the PDP’s standard-bearer.
This development signals the party’s determination to reposition itself ahead of the next presidential contest, while also rallying support around the former president.
