Women in Rivers State have been urged to remain steadfast and unwavering in their faith despite prevailing political and economic challenges in the country.
The call was made by Rivers Women Unite for SIM (RWUS) during its monthly Thanksgiving gathering held on Thursday, May 28, 2026. The event was themed “Beyond the Storm.”
The group encouraged women across the state to stay focused and not allow temporary difficulties to weaken their commitment to peace, unity, and the continued progress of Rivers State.
RWUS commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for what it described as his maturity and uncommon leadership, noting his developmental strides and people-oriented programmes across the state.

According to the group, RWUS remains an interfaith organisation dedicated to continuous prayers and intercession for peace, stability, and development in Rivers State and Nigeria at large, in alignment with the governor’s policy direction.

The women further urged their counterparts not to grow weary in difficult times but to remain hopeful and firm in faith, expressing belief that challenging situations would improve.
RWUS also reaffirmed its support for Governor Fubara, describing him as a leader committed to the welfare of the people and the overall development of the state. The group pledged continued solidarity with the administration’s “Rivers First” agenda.

Additionally, RWUS condemned the abduction of schoolchildren in parts of the country and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the victims. The group described the incidents as unfortunate and prayed for the safe return of the children.
