Formal Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze, is telling Nigeria to be careful. They should not think they are better than any team in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. If they are not careful they might have problems.
Nigeria is in Group L with Tanzania, Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau. A lot of fans think the Super Eagles will easily win this group.. Udeze says they should remember what happened before. In football anything can happen.
Udeze said “I am not surprised that Tanzania is talking big. They can say what they want because they are in our group.” He also said “We have to take every game seriously. We cannot think we are better than any team. If we play our best everything will be okay.”
The Super Eagles have played these teams before. They beat Madagascar before. They also beat Tanzania one to zero at AFCON 2025 in Morocco.. Guinea-Bissau beat them in Abuja during the 2023 AFCON qualifiers. Nigeria won the game though.
One thing that is different in Group L is that Tanzania does not have to qualify. They are already in the tournament because they are hosting it. This means Nigeria has to win the group to get in. They have to play all the time.
The qualifiers start in September 2026. Nigeria plays Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. The AFCON 2027 tournament will have 48 teams. It will be hard to qualify.
