The father of Big Brother Naija Season 8 winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, has spoken out about the recent physical assault that has rocked his family.
In an emotional audio message, Hon. Emmanuel Godson Odiniya, a Kogi State politician, insists the incident does not stem from hatred. He describes Ilebaye as one of his best children and highlights the strong support he gave her over the years.
Odiniya reveals he enrolled her in top schools and played a key role in her BBNaija journey. According to him, he used his political network across Nigeria and beyond to secure massive votes for her victory in 2023.
He claims over 75 percent of the votes came through his efforts, with governors and associates donating funds to buy In-Universe Credits (IUC) that helped keep her in the house.
However, the politician expresses deep disappointment over Ilebaye’s attitude after her win. He alleges that she stopped listening to him and refused to grant him audience despite repeated attempts to meet.
“I would book Ilebaye five to six times in a week, but she would never respond,” he says.
The only Odiniya admits the assault happened out of frustration as he tried to guide her. He criticizes her lifestyle choices, including cosmetic surgeries on her face, body, and buttocks, and her lavish spending.
The lawmaker says he advised her to invest in projects that would help the less privileged, but she rejected his counsel and sometimes responded with insults.
Currently receiving treatment in Abuja after his arrest, Odiniya maintains his actions came from a place of care and correction.
The family saga continues to generate reactions across social media.
