Eze Ekpeye Assures Peace, Development as New Chiefs Are Installed

His Imperial Majesty, Eze Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, Eze Ekpeye Logbo III of Ula-Upata Town in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, has reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining peace, unity, and development across Ekpeye communities.

The monarch gave the assurance during the installation of new chiefs into the Ekpeye Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, an event held as part of activities marking his fourth coronation anniversary.

Eze Anugwo stated that since ascending the throne, his administration has remained focused on delivering a three-point agenda centered on peace and unity, development, and repositioning the Ekpeye ethnic nation for greater recognition among other groups.

He noted that the Ekpeye land has witnessed significant development through interventions from the government and corporate organizations, adding that ongoing projects have contributed to the growth of the area.

The traditional ruler emphasized that the selection of the newly installed chiefs was based on their proven contributions to the development of Ekpeye land. He urged them to work collaboratively to strengthen peace and unity within the kingdom.

“The emphasis remains on peace and unity. We have also made remarkable progress in development, and we are committed to repositioning Ekpeye to compete favorably with other ethnic nationalities,” he said.

Eze Anugwo further highlighted infrastructural projects executed in the area by successive administrations, including road construction and school renovations, noting that such efforts have boosted socio-economic development in Ahoada East and Ahoada West.

In separate interviews, some of the newly installed chiefs expressed gratitude for the honour and pledged their loyalty to the throne.

One of the chiefs, Dr. Isaac Kemedabie, assured that he would work towards promoting peace, unity, and security in Ekpeye land, urging all stakeholders to support the monarch’s leadership.

Another chief, Friday Adikema, described his installation as a privilege and pledged to contribute to youth development, security, and overall progress of the area.

The event attracted dignitaries, community leaders, and well-wishers, who commended the monarch’s leadership and called for sustained unity among the Ekpeye people.
