2027: You Need Obi, Kwankwanso To Defeat Tinubu, ADC urged

Ahead of the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria, the African Democratic Congress ADC, has been urged to present the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as its candidates for the election.

A member of the party, Mr Nnochiri Igwe, revealed this in an interview with TPCN, where he described the combination as the only way to defeat the All Progressives Congress APC, in the forthcoming election. Igwe urged the party leadership to eschew sentiment, insisting that presenting candidates such as Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, would hinder the party’s chances of winning.

He further urged Atiku, Amaechi and other stakeholders of the party to support Obi and Kwankwanso candidacy, to being the present APC led administration to end. According to him, Atiku should play a fatherly role to Obi and Kwankwanso, If he must re-contest, it should be after 2027 election. His words: “If only our party leadership knows who president Tinubu is.

If only they know who Nyerishi, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and Senate President, God’swill Akpabio that are standing beside him are, they will sit up. “If we actually want to take over power 2027, for me, I think Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwanso are a better combination, they should remove sentiment of who will go and who will not.

“As of now, we really need to present our best, not people like Amaechi and Atiku, they are no go area, they shouldn’t even think of giving it to them. “Atiku and Amaechi should only support them. Atiku has lost consistently, after every defeat, he returns back to Dubai, once election is close, he will come back to contest again and he will still loose.”

Igwe insisted that Amaechi and Kwankwanso lacked good structure, hence do not have the capacity to win the ruling party. “They don’t have solid foundation, they didn’t build a better and strong structure. Atiku should just be like a father to them, if actually he still has the intention to run for president, he should allow this people to collect the power first then give it to him on a Plata of gold, that’s after their first four years.

“For me, Obi and Kwankwanso combination, will really shake the current administration if at all not removing them from power but that will happen only if the rest of them brings there support genuinely.

“They should support this two and see what will happen, use a strategy that will be the people first, their strategy should be about the people, holding protests for remover of INEC chairman won’t help the poor masses, there are other pressing issues that are seriously affecting a common man, that should be their protests strategy, protesting for the people not for INEC chairman.”
