Turkish analyst Mustafa Denizli has highlighted the considerable influence of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen on both Galatasaray and the Turkish Super Lig.
Currently, the Nigerian international is undergoing rehabilitation following surgery for an injury sustained during the first half of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League match against Liverpool at Anfield last month.
In his absence, Galatasaray has encountered difficulties in maintaining consistency, having failed to achieve victories in two of their last three matches and accumulating only four points from a possible nine.
Despite remaining at the top of the table, their lead has narrowed, with Fenerbahce now trailing by just two points and Trabzonspor still within striking distance.
Statistically speaking, it is unarguably that with five matches left to play in the Turkish league, the pressure is mounting on the reigning champions.
Denizli remarked that the super Nigerian international sensational, Victor Osimhen’s importance extends beyond his individual contributions, describing him as a player who enhances the performance of his teammates.
In comments reported by habersarikirmizi, he stated, “Osimhen is an essential player not only for Galatasaray but for the entire league. We cannot attribute this solely to his personal performance.
“Osimhen’s absence is a factor that adversely impacts those playing alongside him, to his right, left, and behind him.”
Galatasaray’s medical team is making every effort to ensure Osimhen regains his fitness in time for the potentially title-defining match against Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce on April 26, 2026.
