The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to inaugurate the Electoral Committee and the Electoral Appeals Committee today (Thursday, 2nd April 2026), following their establishment last week.
The event will take place at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja and will be led by the NFF President and President of WAFU B Zone, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau.
A total of 12 individuals have been appointed to the two committees, with seven members designated for the Electoral Committee and five for the Electoral Appeals Committee.
Among the seven members of the Electoral Committee, five will hold full membership, which includes a chairperson, a vice chairperson, and three ordinary members.
The remaining two will serve as alternates. In the Electoral Appeals Committee, three of the five members will be full members, while two will act as alternates.
The Electoral Committee is tasked with overseeing the electoral process in line with the applicable provisions of the NFF Statutes (March 2026 edition) and the Electoral Code (March 2026).
It will be responsible for all activities related to the organization, management, and supervision of the elections that will occur during the Congress.
During the Extraordinary General Assembly held in Yenagoa on Monday, 23rd March 2026, the following individuals were appointed to the two committees: Barr. Matthew Burkala, SAN; Hon. Justice C. J. Aneke; Mr. Emmanuel Dada Obafemi; Alhaji Babagoni Grema; Barr. Benjamin Sak; Mallam Bature Musa; Prof. Abdulmalik Awwal; Arinze Azubuike Anughere, Esq; Hon. (Dr) Akogun Olugbenga Omole; Abayomi Akin Omoyimi, Esq; Ayibaye Peter Great Temedie, Esq; and Ayi Ekpo Ukpayam.
The inauguration today will mark the commencement of activities for the two committees in preparation for the elections to the NFF Executive Committee, scheduled to take place in Lafia, Nasarawa State on Saturday, 26th September 2026.
