The Rivers State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Peters Nwagor, has expressed deep appreciation to the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) for their show of solidarity following his recent appointment.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the association’s executive members at his office in Rumuokwuta, Dr. Nwagor described the gesture as “a strong encouragement and a reminder of the collective responsibility we share in advancing education.”
“I sincerely thank you for this visit and your unwavering support,” he said. “It strengthens my resolve to serve with integrity, dignity, and a clear commitment to transforming the education sector in line with the vision of Siminalayi Fubara.”
The delegation, led by STAN Vice Chairman, Dr. Ibifiri Blessing Pollyn, commended the Commissioner’s leadership qualities and track record, describing him as “exceptional and result-driven.”

“We are confident in your capacity to bring meaningful progress to the education sector,” Dr. Pollyn stated. “Your experience and dedication position you to make a lasting impact.”
She also praised Governor Fubara for the appointment, noting that it reflects “a deliberate effort to place capable hands in critical positions,” and offered prayers for wisdom and guidance for the Commissioner.
Dr. Nwagor, who also serves as the State Chairman of STAN, reaffirmed his readiness to collaborate with stakeholders, emphasizing that “education reform requires unity, innovation, and sustained commitment from all parties involved.”
The visit highlights growing alignment between government and professional bodies in driving educational development across Rivers State.
