Delta Queens Edge FC Robo In Five-Goal Thriller to Boost Super Six Push

Delta Queens delivered one of the most dramatic performances of Matchday 12 in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, edging past FC Robo Queens 3-2 in a pulsating encounter in Asaba to strengthen their bid for a Super Six spot.

The hosts showed resilience and attacking intent in a game that swung back and forth. FC Robo Queens struck first through Kemi Adegbuyi, putting Delta Queens under early pressure on home soil.

However, the response was swift, as Princess Adams restored parity to settle the nerves of the home supporters.

Robo Queens regained the lead through Esther Onyenezide, threatening to take control of the contest, but Delta Queens refused to back down.

Norah Davies once again brought the game level, setting up a tense finale in front of an energized Asaba crowd.

With momentum on their side, Delta Queens found the decisive breakthrough in the 71st minute when Anatasia Terfa fired home what proved to be the winning goal, sealing a hard-fought 3-2 victory.

The result highlights Delta Queens’ growing determination as the league enters a crucial phase, with every point now vital in the race for Super Six qualification.

Their ability to respond under pressure and secure maximum points in such a high-intensity fixture could prove pivotal in their campaign.

Elsewhere, other Matchday 12 fixtures also produced notable outcomes. Bayelsa Queens recorded the biggest win of the round with a commanding 5-0 victory over Naija Ratels, while Rivers Angels secured a solid 2-0 home win against Pacesetter Queens.

Edo Queens continued their impressive form with a 2-0 triumph over Ekiti Queens, and Abia Angels picked up an important away win against Osun Babes.

Meanwhile, Remo Stars Ladies were held to a 1-1 draw by Confluence Queens, and Nasarawa Amazons played out a goalless stalemate with Ahudiyannem Queens.

As the NWFL Premiership season intensifies, Delta Queens’ thrilling victory could serve as a defining moment, reinforcing their credentials as serious contenders for a place among the league’s elite in the Super Six.
